Job summary

The Salvation Army in Atlanta is seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance worker. You will perform routine building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs across the shelters and ground areas.

You will also handle make-ready services for tenant turnover and occasional setup of rooms for events. Responsibilities include daily upkeep of surfaces, fixtures, and equipment, and responding to on-site emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid State Driver's License required.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and outdoor work.
• Experience in general building maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance and minor plumbing repairs (leaky faucets, clogged toilets).
• Perform electrical repairs (receptacles, light fixtures) and basic electrical work.
• Provide make-ready services for tenant turnover, including painting and cleaning.
• Set up and arrange office furniture and activity rooms as needed.
• Monitor lighting and replace bulbs; respond to on-site alarms and emergencies.
