A family-run food production business in Rochester is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to ensure optimal maintenance of machines and equipment. You will diagnose issues, implement maintenance programs, and work safely in accordance with health regulations. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, electrical qualifications, and strong diagnostic skills. This role offers 28 days holiday, a pension scheme, and opportunities for development.

Formación

• Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Electrical qualifications and strong health & safety knowledge.
• Strong electrical & mechanical skills.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain all machines and equipment to optimum standards.
• Employ fault-finding techniques to efficiently diagnose and resolve issues.
• Minimise breakdowns through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Minimise breakdowns through proactive maintenance and improvements.
• Implement and maintain a planned maintenance programme.
• Collaborate with production teams to plan downtime.
• Manage stock of spare parts and order as needed.
• Ensure all work adheres to health & safety regulations.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Continuously update technical knowledge.

Our client, a well-established family-run food production business, is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their team in Rochester.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring all machines and equipment are maintained to optimal standards. You will work closely with production teams, proactively plan maintenance schedules, and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.

Role: Multi-Skilled Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain all machines and equipment to optimum standards, reacting quickly to faults and breakdowns
• Employ fault-finding techniques to efficiently diagnose and resolve issues, communicating with affected parties throughout the process
• Minimise breakdowns through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime costs
• Implement and maintain a systematic planned maintenance programme
• Collaborate with production teams for advance planning of machinery downtime
• Manage stock of critical spare parts and order parts for service and repair as needed
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Continuously update technical knowledge through ongoing learning and development

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a similar manufacturing environment
• Electrical apprenticeship (City & Guilds), HNC, ONC, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or similar qualification
• Strong electrical basis with mechanical skills
• Full commitment to health and safety guidelines
• Excellent attention to detail and strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, reprioritise, and manage expectations
• PLC fault finding & diagnostics experience

Hours will be on a rotating shift pattern of 4 on 4 off
