Job summary

Orange County Public Schools is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform corrective and scheduled maintenance across various craft disciplines at district facilities in the Orlando area.

The role requires hands-on experience with building systems, concrete, drywall, doors, and safety procedures, with physical ability to perform demanding tasks. The position offers a stable full-time role within the OCPS facilities team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/technical training in building maintenance preferred.
• Three years of related experience or training.
• Ability to meet physical requirements.
• IPCS screening required for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
• Performs scheduled, corrective and/or predictive maintenance on equipment and building components as described within the functions listed below.
• Patches concrete, building basic concrete forms and pouring and finishing concrete.
• Repairs drywall, ceramic tile, stucco and Dryvit.
• Installs suspended ceiling members.
• Repairs and replaces wooden deck components, interior and exterior wood components.
• Cleans and performs scheduled maintenance on A/C units, including installing filters and replacing exhaust fans when necessary.
• Inspects and tests various cables and wires, line voltage, fire alarm systems, emergency/exit lighting and photocells for damage.
