MedStar Health is seeking a Multi-Skilled Radiology Technologist / CT Technologist to join our team!

As a Multiskilled Rad Technologist II, you will conduct various radiographic examinations for physician use in diagnosing and treating patient conditions. You will perform technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Both computer-programmed and manual equipment are used during technique selection and imaging. You will assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Operating radiological equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as directed by physicians, you will perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. Providing the utmost attention to the individual medical needs, dignity, and comfort of all patients supports the hospital's objectives. ARRT Radiography registration and state licensure are required.

The Multi-skilled Radiology Technologist will also provide leadership and guidance to Radiology department associates and demonstrate appropriate knowledge and technique to deliver suitable clinical care to the specific patient population.

Primary Duties:

1. Demonstrate thorough understanding and clinical competency across all exams and equipment of multiple modalities, including preparing and administering contrast agents as directed and authorized by Radiologists. Prioritize the medical needs, dignity, and comfort of all patients in support of our mission and values.
2. Follow departmental imaging standards by performing high-quality imaging of requested anatomic areas, properly labeling images, explaining exams to patients, and obtaining pertinent clinical information, history, and consent for procedures.
3. Properly identify patients (Name & DOB). Maintain HIPAA compliance. Possess and demonstrate adequate knowledge to provide radiological services suitable for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, adhering to all radiation safety policies and procedures.
4. Perform examination completion in RIS and PACS, ensuring all images are processed, archived, and available for interpretation, and maintain department documentation standards within all electronic systems (RIS, PACS, EMR).
5. Responsible for the maintenance and care of departmental facilities, ensuring compliance with infection control policies. All treatment rooms/areas should be cleaned and stocked. Perform routine duties independently with minimal supervision, knowing when to escalate issues to Lead or Director.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completed formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• 3-4 years of experience in the registry post-primary pathway certification preferred.
• Maintain ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board), or ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) status by fulfilling education and registry requirements in one or more of the following: MRI, CT, Mammography, Cardiac-Interventional Radiography, Vascular Interventional Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Bone Densitometry, Quality Management, or Sonography.
• Certified Healthcare Quality Management (CHCQM) through the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance.
• Active Maryland state licensure.
• CPR certification.
