Job summary

The Phoenix Rehab in New York is seeking an Area Respiratory Operations Technician to support the Regional Director of Respiratory Services in overseeing and enhancing respiratory rehabilitation programs across multiple skilled nursing facilities.

This role blends operational, clinical, and educational responsibilities, requires travel to assigned facilities, and involves auditing, staff training, and equipment management to ensure high-quality respiratory care and program compliance.

• Strong operational and organizational skills with proficiency in EHR systems and computer applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and facility staff.
• Ability to travel regulary to assigned facilities within the region.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for audits, reporting, and compliance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Track respiratory programs daily using multiple EHR and computer systems.
• Manage scheduling of respiratory therapy treatments, including weekends, and ensure staffing coverage.
• Conduct daily reviews of new patients, including key respiratory indicators, medication use, and diagnostic data.
• Complete order set audits, treatment evaluations, documentation, and care plan compliance checks.
• Maintain accurate patient and facility listings for oxygen and respiratory devices.
• Perform weekly audits of respiratory equipment, including oxygen concentrators, tanks, Airvo2, BiPAP, and CPAP devices.
• Educate facility staff on proper use, maintenance, and replacement procedures for respiratory equipment.
• Assist with program implementation and updates to ensure consistent clinical standards.
• Conduct onsite and virtual (Zoom) interviews for respiratory staff in assigned facilities.
• Assist with orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training of new respiratory employees.
