Job summary

Mark-Taylor is hiring a Lead Service Technician in Surprise, AZ to maintain and repair apartment communities and ensure five-star service. You will assist with make-readies, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues, and perform routine pool and safety inspections.

The role requires 2+ years in apartment maintenance, OSHA knowledge, and EPA/HVAC/CPO certifications. On-call duties include a $3/hour incentive and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in apartment maintenance roles.
• Advanced knowledge: plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, appliances, OSHA standards.
• One or more industry-specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
• Service oriented and good basic computer skills.
• Basic written and verbal English understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards.
• Troubleshoot/diagnose minor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance, and carpentry issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on vacant units.
• Perform daily pool care and ensure chemical balance and safety.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and report to Manager of Facilities and Service.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $26.00/hour.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• 2 or more years experience working as an apartment turn technician, maintenance technician. make ready technician, or work order technician is required.
• Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards
• One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
• Train and mentor other Service Technician and Facilities Technicians
