Job summary

Mirror in Shawnee, KS is seeking a Maintenance Worker to ensure all Mirror facilities and equipment are safe and functional. Under supervision, you will supervise clients assisting with maintenance and perform repairs, inspections, and scheduling to keep life safety codes met.

The role requires High School diploma or GED, technical maintenance background, and ability to pass background checks. Travel to multiple Mirror sites and occasional overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Vocational/Technical courses in building maintenance or related skills preferred.
• Experience with facility and vehicle maintenance is desirable.
• Ability to pass background/security checks is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client/offender and program confidentiality as required by federal law.
• Supervise offenders/clients assigned to assist with maintenance tasks.
• Ensure safety of residents and staff by meeting fire and life safety codes.
• Assist with maintenance scheduling for agency vehicles and facilities.
• Keep buildings inspected and address compliance issues with fire and life safety codes.
• Maintain inventories and document service or replacement work.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and oversee contracted work when needed.
• On call to handle major facility maintenance problems and questions.
• Assist in hauling, storing and distributing food items for Mirror facilities.
• Perform other duties as directed by Manager or area Director.
