Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools seeks an Assistant Director of Extended Day Enrichment Programs (EDEP) to lead division-wide before/after-school, holiday, and summer learning initiatives. You will coordinate programs, supervise staff, and partner with families to ensure quality across sites.

The role emphasizes safe, engaging, inclusive environments that support enrichment, academics, social-emotional growth, and strong school-family partnerships.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience equivalent to a four-year degree and 3+ years in extended learning or related leadership roles.
• Master’s degree in education, leadership, youth development, or related field preferred.
• Experience supervising staff, coordinating programs, and supporting multi-site operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate before- and after-school, holiday, and summer learning programs division-wide.
• Oversee staffing coverage, enrollment management, and site operations across multiple locations.
• Provide coaching, troubleshooting, and follow-up to ensure program quality and compliance.
• Support family communication, engagement, and partnerships with schools and communities.
• Ensure safe, inclusive, developmentally appropriate learning environments aligned with MTSS.
