Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools is seeking an EDEP Teacher for Murray Elementary School to provide a safe, engaging after-school enrichment program. This part-time position offers 4 hours per day for 10 months, focused on nurturing student learning after the school day.

The role emphasizes lesson planning, supervision, and collaboration with ASEP staff and school personnel to support students’ development, safety, and positive behavior in a diverse, equity-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a child-related field or 6 months supervised programmatic experience with 24 hours of training related to child care within 6 months of promotion.
• Training in Basic First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and implements lesson plans.
• Coordinates activities and special events.
• Meets students at designed time and location.
• Upholds cooperative relations with ASEP staff and school staff.
• Exhibits positive public relations.
• Upholds school rules, policies, and procedures.
• Provides care for students in all EDEP venues.
• Participates in EDEP programs as assigned.
• Attends required training sessions.
