Job summary

Centuri Group is seeking a Safety Training Instructor to serve as the Subject Matter Expert for technical skills training and evaluation within our apprenticeship program. You will coordinate with safety teams and stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive training plan for employees.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 10+ years of electric transmission/distribution experience, and OSHA/FA‑ CPR/ AED credentials.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; degree or professional accreditation preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel; ability to use smartphone/tablet apps.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training and evaluations with knowledge of electrical standards of practice.
• Evaluate skill level of new hires and apprentices in the program.
• Instruct and ensure compliance with company, customer and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper instruction on safety and technical skills for all employees.
• Advance safety culture through core values and practical demonstrations.
• Seek opportunities to improve training content and delivery methods.
• Apply adult learning theory to maximize learning across learners.
• Create and manage a conducive training and evaluation atmosphere.

You will work collaboratively to administer and continuously improve our internal apprenticeship program and work closely with other safety team members and internal stakeholders to coordinate and deliver a holistic training program for our employees.

What You\'ll Do

• Conduct training and training evaluations through ample knowledge of electrical standards of practice
• Evaluate the skill level and competency of new hires and existing linemen who are progressing through the apprenticeship program
• Instruct and evaluate field employees on compliance related to company, customer and federal/state regulatory requirements
• Verify that all employees receive proper instruction on safety and technical skills
• Advance the safety culture of the workforce through engagement and demonstrations of the Core Values in practical application
• Seek out opportunities to improve training content and delivery methods
• Employ learning theory strategies to maximize training for all types of learners and skill levels
• Develop and manage training/evaluation atmosphere conducive to proven adult learning and classroom management techniques
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
  
  

What You\'ll Have

• HS Diploma or GED required; degree or professional accreditation preferred.
• 10+ years electric transmission and/or distribution construction experience required. Prior training experience must be present within this requirement.
• OSHA Authorized Trainer, FA/CPR/AED, and/or other safety training certifications preferred
• Ability to travel for overnight stays and experience arranging own travel
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, smart phone and tablet applications
• Must have excellent computer and organizational skills
• Bilingual a plus

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
• Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice
• Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
• Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
