Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts is hiring a full-time Dog Trainer to operate across multiple locations. You will train dogs from puppies to older pets, assess goals, and guide parents on training plans and progress in person, via email, and video.

You will work with a team that values safety, positive reinforcement, and client-focused service, with responsibilities spanning classes, individual sessions, and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operant and classical conditioning as it relates to dog training.
• Experience with dogs, dog behavior, and breed characteristics.
• Willingness to obtain CCPDT certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Train assigned dogs daily and prepare training plans for behavior modification.
• Meet with clients on arrival and departure to discuss goals and progress.
• Provide enrichment and document dog behavior and training status.
• Adhere to least intrusive, minimally aversive training and use positive reinforcement.
