AllianceBernstein L.P. is seeking a Multi-Sector Insurance Associate Portfolio Manager (APM) in Nashville, TN, reporting to the Manager of the Multi-Sector Insurance PMG.

The role collaborates with Portfolio Management, Trading, Sales, Operations, and Technology to deliver client-focused investment solutions. The APM will monitor cash balances, trade activity, and risk targets, while supporting reporting, client requests, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio cash balances per guidelines and strategy.
• Monitor positions, trades, and analytics for compliance and risk targets.
• Propose rebalancing trades to meet targets and guidelines.
• Generate orders to manage client cash flows and FX rebalances.
• Support account openings/closings and respond to ad-hoc client requests.
• Prepare investment and portfolio exposure reports.
• Review guideline amendments and custodial changes impact.
• Collaborate with technologists to automate processes and improve controls.
• Support Portfolio Managers, Sales, Trading, and Operations to meet client needs.
• Coordinate with Insurance Ops on cash balance in transfers.
• Build investment program trackers and reporting presentations.
• Answer client inquiries on asset class matters and provide impairment review support.
• Conduct bespoke asset allocation analysis for insurance portfolios.

Who You’ll Work With:

AllianceBernstein is seeking a Multi-Sector Insurance Associate Portfolio Manager (APM), reporting to the Manager of Multi-Sector Insurance Portfolio Management Group (PMG). As part of the Portfolio Management Group organization, Multi-Sector Insurance APMs partner directly with Portfolio Management and Trading as well as other areas of the firm including Sales, Operations, Technology, and more.

What You’ll Do:

Specific responsibilities include:

• Managing portfolio cash balances and ensuring cash balances are consistent with portfolio guidelines and current investment strategy.
• Monitoring portfolio positions, trade orders and analytics for compliance with client guidelines and adherence to asset allocation, duration, and risk targets.
• Highlighting deviations from targets and recommending trades to rebalance portfolios.
• Generating purchase or sell orders to manage client cash flows, FX rebalances and active investments.
• Facilitating account opening/closings and liaising with Sales and Portfolio Management to address ad-hoc client requests.
• Assisting with preparation of investment and portfolio exposure reports.
• Reviewing proposed guideline amendments, custodial changes and other activities that may impact accounts.
• Identifying opportunities and partnering with technologists to re-engineer and automate processes to increase operational efficiency, improve client service and enhance risk controls.
• Providing support to Portfolio Managers, Sales, Trading and Operations to deliver against client requirements.
• Partner with Insurance Ops in portfolio transfers and determine actionable cash balance.
• Build and maintain investment program trackers and report-out presentations.
• Serve as Clients’ first go-to on asset class related inquiries and provide impairment review support.
• Perform bespoke analysis on asset allocation and provide insurance specific relative value recommendations.

What We’re Looking For:

Candidates must have outstanding attention to detail, coupled with a proven ability to think logically and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, often under time pressure and across multiple tasks.

A bachelor’s degree with three to five years of industry-related experience. Experience with Fixed Income credit, currency and/or global markets is preferred. Motivated self-starter with a passion for process improvement and leveraging technology to solve complex business problems. Strong interest/experience in financial markets, notably insurance asset management. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication skills paired with a strong desire to work in a team-oriented organization. Exceptional understanding of risk management and overall control environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong soft skills such as adaptability and creativity. Coding and AI experience or use of data visualization tools is beneficial.
