Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating production welding equipment including MIG, TIG, Heliarc and torch welding.
• Knowledge of equipment setup, adjustment and safe operating procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret welding specifications and drawings.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• From verbal instructions, sets up, adjusts and operates MIG welding equipment to cut and meld steel castings.
• Sets up, adjusts and operates TIG welding equipment to cut and meld brass and aluminum.
• Operates Heliarc welding equipment for x-ray welding work.
• Moves and positions castings for various jobs.
• Changes gas cylinders and uses correct welding gas for different alloys.
• Repairs castings, gouges and leaks.
• Visually checks completed work for adherence to governmental specifications, and
• Maintains clean work area; fully comply with safety guidelines.
