Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Veterinarian Medical Director to guide two hospitals in Illinois, driving clinical excellence, staff development, and strategic growth. You will partner with leadership to elevate patient care and sustain a strong client focus.

Requirements include a DVM/VMD, active state license, and DEA licensure eligibility. Competitive base plus production incentives and a Medical Director stipend are offered.

• Drive strategy, growth, and clinical excellence across both locations in collaboration with the practice manager and leadership team.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
• State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.

About the Hospital

Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital is a small animal practice located in South Barrington, Illinois focusing on wellness, preventative care, and more. Our hospital has a supportive and collaborative environment and a loyal client base. We pride ourselves on our excellent patient care, comprehensive client education, and our long lasting relationships with our clients.

We are a well established, AAHA accredited companion animal hospital located 30 miles northwest of Chicago. Our clinic is feline friendly and equipped with advanced diagnostics and treatment options, including digital radiography, dentistry, surgery, laser therapy, and access to ultrasound services.

Fountain View Animal Hospital is a smaller, growing team that provides an opportunity for a Medical Director to have a direct impact on team development, culture, and clinical consistency. This location offers a more hands on leadership environment where mentorship and growth are key priorities.

We are open Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday 8:00am to 1:00pm

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a full time range from $170k to $190k annually prior to production. Thrive provides a Medical Director Stipend, quarterly production and no negative accrual. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
