Job summary

Nexstar Media seeks a Digital Producer to lead the shift from broadcast-centric newsrooms to multi-platform environments in Brownsville, TX. You will train teams in new methods, create and edit original content, and oversee on-air and digital storytelling that reinforces brand across platforms.

Responsibilities include shooting, editing, writing for the web, and building digital campaigns while upholding editorial standards and high production quality. Strong AP style and web skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience preferred
• Proficiency in AP style, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML preferred
• CSS, Flash and other relevant technology skills are a plus
• Maintain positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments
• Responds positively to feedback

Responsibilities

• Leads the transition to multi-platform newsrooms with daily guidance and training
• Shoots and edits content for on-air and digital platforms
• Writes stories for the web and other digital platforms
• Builds and calendars digital campaigns to promote local shows and specials
• Produces reports for all platforms
• Ensures content meets journalistic integrity and production quality
• Finds new ways to engage viewers via social media and website
