Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation, based in New York, provides administrative and clinical support for ColumbiaDoctors. The Multi-Modality Technologist will perform CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine imaging, ensure image quality, and assist with patient care across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has a NYS license with ARRT CT/MRI/PET, BLS in NY, and at least 1 year of modality experience. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this hybrid role with flexible coverage.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• 1 year relevant experience including exposure to CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine studies.
• NYS License, ARRT certified including CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine.
• New York BLS certified
• Multiple modality Registry certified
• Demonstrated leadership proficiency in a team environment, including communication, training/knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to de-escalate stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff.
• Perform imaging (CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine) and general radiological procedures.
• Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided.
• Position patient and select appropriate options for best-case imaging.
• Observe patient during modality coverage and contact primary care givers when needed.
• Judge diagnostic quality of finished images prior to radiologist interpretation.
• Explain diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Administer contrast media via peripheral IV as directed by staff.
• Operate and maintain equipment, schedule PM, perform QA, and maintain logs.
• Perform clerical responsibilities related to patient records.

Job Summary:

The Multi-Modality Technologist is an experienced professional who functions within multiple modality services. In this role, the incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving images, and will be responsible for the care of the patient.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff.
• Perform imaging (CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine) and general radiological procedures:
  • Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided. Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and, at the radiologist’s discretion, the referring physician.
  • Position patient and select appropriate options to ensure best‑case imaging.
  • Observe patient while in the modality being covered for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction.
  • Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
  • Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate.
  • Administer contrast media via appropriate peripheral IV access as ordered and directed by staff.
• Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data: schedule PM, perform QA, maintain records required for and participate in inspections.
• Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• A minimum of 1 year relevant experience, including exposure to a wide range of CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine studies.
• NYS License, ARRT certified including CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine.
• New York BLS certified
• Multiple modality Registry certified
• Demonstrated leadership proficiency in a team environment, including communication, training/knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated participation in continuous improvement or quality initiatives.
• Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to de‑escalate stressful situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse staff and patient/family population, demonstrating tact, respect, and empathy.
• Candidates must demonstrate strong aptitude for detail, flexibility, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem‑solving skills. Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of facility policies and procedures.
• Must be an engaged team member, demonstrating collaboration, inclusion, reliability, and adaptability to new and changing situations.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email systems, etc.
• Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices as needed (multiple sites and flexible schedule).

Hourly Rate Ranges: $56.21 - $68.22

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
