Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation is seeking a Multi-Modality Technologist to support ColumbiaDoctors. The role involves performing CT, MRI, and PET/Nuclear Medicine imaging, preparing exams, and ensuring patient safety and comfort across multiple sites.

You will review orders, operate and maintain imaging equipment, manage patient records, and participate in continuous improvement. NYS license, ARRT CT/MRI/PET, and strong communication are required; flexible scheduling is available with sign-on

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• NYS License, ARRT CT/MRI/PET/Nuclear Medicine certification.
• New York BLS certified; multiple modality registry.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and faculty and staff.
• Perform imaging (CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine) and general radiological procedures.
• Review imaging requests for appropriateness and consult radiologist as needed.
• Position patient and select options for best-case imaging.
• Observe patient status and intervene when required.
• Judge diagnostic quality before submission.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Administer contrast media via peripheral IV as directed.
• Operate and maintain equipment daily; log performance data and QA.
• Perform clerical duties for acquisition, processing and archiving.
• Provide coverage across multiple sites and flexible schedule.

Job Summary:

The Multi-Modality Technologist is an experienced professional who functions within multiple modality services. In this role, the incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving images, and will be responsible for the care of the patient.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff.
• Perform imaging (CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine) and general radiological procedures:
  • Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided. Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and, at the radiologist's discretion, the referring physician.
  • Position patient and select appropriate options to ensure best-case imaging.
  • Observe patient while in the modality being covered for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction.
  • Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
  • Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate.
  • Administer contrast media via appropriate peripheral IV access as ordered and directed by staff.
• Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data: schedule PM, perform QA, maintain records required for and participate in inspections.
• Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing and archiving of patient records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• A minimum of 1 year relevant experience, including exposure to a wide range of CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine studies.
• NYS License, ARRT certified including CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine.
• New York BLS certified
• Multiple modality Registry certified
• Demonstrated leadership proficiency in a team environment, including communication, training/knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated participation in continuous improvement or quality initiatives.
• Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to de-escalate stressful situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse staff and patient/family population, demonstrating tact, respect, and empathy.
• Candidates must demonstrate strong aptitude for detail, flexibility, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of facility policies and procedures.
• Must be an engaged team member, demonstrating collaboration, inclusion, reliability, and adaptability to new and changing situations.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email systems, etc.
• Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices as needed (multiple sites and flexible schedule).
• State license to inject contrast preferred.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $56.21 - $68.22

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
