Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers in Aiken, South Carolina, seeks a Multi-Modality X-Ray/CT Technologist to assist physicians and perform MRI and CT procedures, radiological duties, and clerical tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms and equipment, positioning patients, labeling scans, sending images to PACS, and rotating to other imaging areas. Eligible for a $15K sign-on bonus; comprehensive benefits and competitive pay accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training.
• One year of experience in two or more modalities or completion of facility training.
• Current South Carolina certificate issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association and ARRT certification.
• BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures.
• Position patients correctly and assist during CT and Radiology procedures.
• Label scans and ensure correct patient identification on film.
• Send images to PACS and verify availability for interpretation in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and supplies in the procedure room.
• Rotate to other imaging departments as needed and participate in on-call rotations.

The Multi-Modality Technologist assists physicians and performs MRI and/or CT and radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties required in the care and assistance of patients. Works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor, Lead MRI/CT Tech and physicians. Is primarily responsible for helping with the daily operations of the MRI or CT and Radiology departments.

Duties:

• Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures.
• Maintains clean and stocked procedure room on a daily basis.
• Properly warms CT equipment daily, and assures equipment is working properly.
• If equipment is not functioning properly, notifies appropriate person.
• Prepares patient for CT and Radiology procedures – explains procedure, transfers patient to examination table, positions patient correctly, and assists patient at end of procedure.
• Labels scans appropriately and uses proper patient ID on film prior to development of film
• Performs general clerical, file room, darkroom, and transportation duties when needed to fulfill the workload of the department.
• Practices patient care according to ARMC policy.
• Assists Radiologists during procedures and takes scans as requested
• Knowledgeable in proper sequence of scheduling exams for the entire Radiology department.
• Considers age-related factors in obtaining images or performing diagnostic or therapeutic imaging studies. Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Regularly accepts additional work during period of low patient activity and demonstrates a willingness to assist others within the department as requested.
• Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all data, records, forms, reports, procedures and any other information regarding customer relations of Aiken Regional Medical Centers 100% of the time.
• Must know and implement radiation safety procedures when working with radiation producing equipment 100% of the time
• Responsible for reading and reviewing all material in department manuals annually.
• Responsible for ensuring that patient charges are given to the appropriate person to be entered into RMS in a timely manner and that the charges are accurate.
• Responsible for knowing and maintaining the measures described in the Universal Protocol policy.
• Send images to PACS appropriately and verify all are available for interpretation in a timely manner.
• Must know and implement radiation safety procedures when working with radiation producing equipment.
• Knows proper method of using CT power injector.
• Rotates to other imaging departments as needed; participates in holiday and on-call rotation requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training
