Job summary

Adventist Health seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate x-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, NM and/or mammography equipment. The holder will support departmental goals and perform three modalities regularly to ensure efficient patient imaging services.

Required ARRT certification and RT state license, CPR/BLS certification, and current modality certification with ability to perform at least one other advanced modality. On-site imaging with safety and quality focus.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS certification or Basic Life Support certification required
• Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in state of practice required
• ARRT certification required
• Must hold current certification in one modality and be able to perform duties in at least one other advanced modality (CT/Mammography/MRI/NM/US/PET)

Responsibilities

• Operates x-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine and/or mammography equipment
• Performs at least three modalities regularly
• Transports and transfers patients safely
• Tests defibrillator and crash cart integrity
• Performs mobile imaging procedures as needed
• Prepares contrast agents for imaging procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Helps create an environment that enables the medical imaging department to meet operational goals. Performs at least three of the modalities listed on a regular basis.

Job Requirements

• Education and Work Experience:
• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Required
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Three years' technical experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification: Required
• Must have a current certification in one of the modalities and able to perform duties in at least one other advanced modality: Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography(M), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Sonography(S) or Positron Emission Tomography (PET): Required
• ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
• ARRT-Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) or ARRT-Mammography (ARRT-M) or ARRT-Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MRI) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or ARRT-Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT-NMT) or State Nuclear Med Tech (SNMT) or ARRT-Sonography (ARRT-S) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-RCS) or RTPET: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications

Essential Functions

• Performs various radiographic, mammographic, computed tomography and/or ultrasound examinations consistent with employee's experience.
• Performs three modalities competently.
• Safely transports and transfers patients between gurneys and wheelchairs.
• Tests defibrillator and checks the integrity of crash cart.
• Performs mobile imaging examinations as necessary.
• Safely prepares contrast agents for Medical Imaging procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
