Job summary

Paramount Pictures in Denver is seeking an aggressive and creative MMJ to join KCNC/TV’s morning news block. You will shoot, write, and edit packages, report breaking news with urgency, and develop enterprise content for social media and streaming services.

The ideal candidate has three years on air, strong live-shot ability, and a passion for local storytelling. Must have a valid driver’s license and be flexible with schedule.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience on air.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy.
• Very strong social media skills across platforms.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, holidays & on‑call shifts.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Shoot, write and edit packages for daily newscasts.
• Strong live shot skills required.
• Generate story ideas and participate in editorial meetings.
• Produce content for social media and streaming services.
• Report scripted and unscripted with accuracy and urgency.
• Conduct compelling in‑person interviews.
• Collaborate with a wide range of staff to create content.

KCNC/TV is looking for an aggressive and creative MMJ for our very important morning news block. If your passion is serving your community through great journalism, then we are the newsroom for you. Ideal candidate must love breaking news, character driven and in‑depth story telling.

Responsibilities

• Shoot, write and edit packages for daily newscasts
• Strong live shot skills a must
• Generate story ideas and participate in editorial meetings/Produce content for social media and streaming service
• Report scripted and unscripted, with clarity, accuracy, and confidence/cover breaking news with a sense of urgency
• Conduct compelling in person interviews
• Collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content/Develop and execute enterprise content on a consistent basis
• Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness
• Write clearly and interestingly and use video and graphics to illustrate facts and ideas
• Appear at public and station events, as required/Establish and maintain relationships/sources in the community

Qualifications

• Three years' experience on air
• Must be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and have the ability to solve problems quickly
• Must have a very strong social media skills and able to contribute on all platforms
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, holidays & ON CALL shifts
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements

College degree required or equivalent experience.

Hiring Salary Range

$70,000.00 – $80,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
