Job summary

Principle Choice Solutions LLC is seeking a Switchboard Operator to serve as the first contact for a federal client, handling a high-volume multi-line system and routing callers to the right offices. You will provide accurate information, support emergency notification procedures, maintain logs, and coordinate with directory administrators.

This role may require after-hours coverage and compliance with security protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of switchboard or call-center experience.
• Typing speed of 30 wpm.
• Proficient with Outlook and Teams.
• Familiarity with VoIP/ PBX equipment.

Responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of incoming calls promptly and professionally.
• Route callers to offices or voicemail with accuracy.
• Provide general information using approved directories.
• Operate multi-line VoIP or PBX systems for transfers.
• Support after-hours coverage as required by contract.
• Maintain directories and on-call rosters accurately.
• Coordinate with directory admins to keep data current.
• Maintain logs for emergency and security calls.
• Provide backup receptionist duties when needed.
