Job summary

AION is seeking a Maintenance Technician for The Alden in Pittsburgh. Under the direction of the Service Director and Property Manager, you will perform general maintenance, grounds, and housekeeping to ensure curb appeal and quality of apartment homes, while responding to customer service requests.

The position offers a base hourly rate starting at $23/hour, pay based on experience, plus $15/day on-call during on-call weeks. A valid driver’s license and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CFC Type I & II preferred, 180 days from hire to obtain.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs., walk stairs, and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and janitorial services as assigned.
• Assist with maintenance of storage area and materials.
• Refurbish and renovate apartments per company standards.
• Walk the property daily to ensure curb appeal and quality of apartments.
• Notify Business Manager of safety concerns and participate in safety meetings.
• Assist in snow removal as required.
• Maintain accurate record of all tasks completed.

Job description

Under the direction of the Service Director and Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician at The Alden in Pittsburgh is responsible for performing general maintenance, grounds, and housekeeping services to ensure excellent curb appeal and quality of apartment homes and responding to customer service requests.

• Hourly rate starting at $23/hour; pay based upon experience
• Earn $15/day (on top of base pay) during on-call weeks

Maintenance Services:

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and janitorial services as assigned
• Assist with maintenance of storage area and maintenance materials
• Perform refurbishing and renovation of apartments per company standards
• Walk the property daily to ensure curb appeal and quality of apartments
• Notify Business Manager of any safety concerns and participate in safety meetings
• Responsible for knowledge of property specific problems such as asbestos
• Assist in snow removal as required
• Perform other duties as required
• Maintain accurate record of all tasks completed

Customer Service:

• Complete all service requests in accordance with company standards
• Available for weekend work, on-call duties, and after-hours emergency service requests, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week as scheduled

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• CFC Type I & II preferred, 180 days from hire to obtain
• Valid Driver’s License
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders over 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities such as bending, kneeling, pushing
• Sufficient knowledge to thoroughly complete maintenance assessment up to the standards of a Service Technician I
