Commons at Churchland in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support Commons at Churchland in Chesapeake, Virginia. You will service apartments, common areas, and grounds, ensuring safety and quality for residents while meeting deadlines and budgets.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of multifamily maintenance experience, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of multifamily maintenance or related experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively and understand basic written and verbal instructions in English.
• Reliable transportation and basic tools needed to perform apartment and building maintenance.
• Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsabilités

• Perform interior and exterior repairs to apartments, common areas, buildings, and grounds.
• Complete vacant apartments to make-read y status according to established procedures.
• Communicate regularly with the supervisor regarding service requests, make-ready units, and maintenance needs.
• Inspect exterior areas to support property appearance and curb appeal.
• Monitor maintenance expenses and follow established budget guidelines.
• Follow applicable health and safety codes, laws, and standards.
• Inspect laundry facilities, common area restrooms, and other shared spaces to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
• Participate in resident functions as requested by management.
• Provide professional and responsive service to residents, employees, vendors, and the general public.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Burlington Capital Properties is seeking a skilled, dependable Maintenance Technician to support Commons at Churchland in Chesapeake, Virginia. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys troubleshooting and completing repairs, and provides friendly, quality service to residents. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of multifamily maintenance or related experience and working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general building maintenance. HVAC certification is preferred.

Schedule

Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-5:00 PM | Rotating on-call schedule, including evenings and weekends

The Successful Maintenance Technician Will

• Perform interior and exterior repairs to apartments, common areas, buildings, and grounds

Required Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of two years of multifamily maintenance or related experience required
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliance repair, and general building maintenance
• HVAC certification preferred
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach, push, pull, and carry tools and materials
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Ability to perform maintenance tasks in apartments, buildings, common areas, and exterior property areas
