Job summary

WACKER is seeking a Multi-Craft Technician (Day Shift) at the Charleston, TN site to perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul on reciprocating compressors. The role requires mechanical and electrical expertise to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Key duties include gas overhaul revisions, Rod Drop calibrations, electrical systems troubleshooting, and CMMS documentation. A high school diploma and 3+ years in industrial maintenance (preferably chemical plants) are expected, with a hybrid work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and Journeyman (or higher) in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or related field; Associate Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in Industrial Maintenance or mechanical system applications, preferably in chemical plants or refineries.
• Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical systems (pumps, motors, instrumentation, piping) is preferred.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical faults and failures.
• Using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Documenting maintenance activities and using CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete gas overhaul revisions on reciprocating compressors, including disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of components.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems associated with reciprocating compressors.
• Inspect and measure parts to determine wear and tolerances with precision instruments.
• Replace worn or defective parts such as pistons, rings, valves, bearings, and seals.
• Document maintenance and overhaul activities, findings, and parts used in CMMS.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
