Job summary

WACKER is seeking a Multi-Craft Technician for the Charleston, TN site to perform comprehensive maintenance and overhaul on reciprocating compressors. This role requires both mechanical and electrical expertise, plus the ability to diagnose faults and execute preventive maintenance.

The candidate will document work, calibrate systems, and collaborate with team members to minimize downtime while upholding safety and quality standards within a chemical plant environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and journeyman level education in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in industrial maintenance or mechanical systems, preferably in a chemical plant.
• Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical systems (pumps, motors, instrumentation, piping).

Responsibilities

• Perform complete gas overhaul revisions on reciprocating compressors, including disassembly, inspection, repair and reassembly.
• Conduct Rod Drop calibrations and analyze results to ensure proper compressor operation.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, controls, sensors, and motor connections.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on compressors and related equipment.
• Inspect and measure parts to determine wear, clearances, and tolerances with precision tools.
• Document maintenance activities, findings, parts used, and work performed.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
