Job summary

Ray-Mont Logistics is seeking a permanent full-time Multi-Craft Technician in North Charleston, SC to maintain facility equipment and support operational efficiency. The role includes preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, forklifts, and reach stackers.

The position requires hands-on expertise in motors, controls, and engines, with a schedule of 5am–5pm on a 2-2-3 rotation, with possible overtime and weekend work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields.
• Experience in heavy vehicle mechanics, with forklifts and reach stackers.
• ASE certification or trade-specific training in automotive or heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting abilities; hands-on with controls, PLCs, and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, forklifts, and reach stackers.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues including 3-phase and DC motors up to 80VDC.
• Service and repair automotive-type air conditioning systems.
• Diagnose and repair internal combustion engines using OE software.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and manage work orders in a computerized system.
• Bearing replacements and other mechanical tasks as required.
• Participate in projects to improve equipment designs and processes.
• Support training and development in maintenance skills.

We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Multi-Craft Technician to join our team. The Multi-Craft Technician will be responsible for maintaining facility equipment, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting operational efficiency.

Work Schedule : 2-2-3-Day shift twelve hours 5am-5pm, with potential for overtime as required. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems,forklifts and reach stackers to ensure optimal performance and longevity of facility assets.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical issues along with single phase, three phase, and DC motors up to 80VDC quickly and efficiently.
• Service and repair automotive-type air conditioning systems.
• Diagnose and repair internal combustion engines using OE software.
• Address and resolve operational issues promptly by conducting corrective maintenance onmalfunctioning equipment and systems.
• Maintain domain-specific spare parts inventory and manage work orders using a computerizedsystem.
• Conduct bearing replacements and other mechanical tasks as required
• Participate in special projects focused on improving equipment designs and operational processesto enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work closely with team members to support and facilitate training and development inmaintenance skills, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical,electrical is preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, with a strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical systems, and internal combustion engines.
• Experience in heavy vehicle mechanics, with a focus on forklifts and reach stackers.
• Experience in building or assembling complete engines.
• ASE certification or trade-specific technical training in automotive or heavy equipment is anasset.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting abilities with hands-on experience in controls,PLCs, and pneumatic systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and apply creative problem-solving techniques to resolve complex issues.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including forklifts and reach stackers.
• Prepared to work in various environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings, and able tohandle exposure to extreme weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, support training initiatives,and ensure clear documentation of maintenance activities.
• Perform rigging and lifting of heavy components/equipment while following all applicable safetyrequirements.
• Working knowledge of electrical control systems
• Ability to wire and verify operation of 3 phase, single phase and DC motors following electrical schematics.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
