Job summary

Reynolds Consumer Products LLC is seeking a Shift Maintenance Mechanic for our Manufacturing Plant in Huntersville, NC. The role supports safe, high-quality maintenance and reliable plant operations on a 12-hour night shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am.

Training on day shift is required to start. The candidate will work with maintenance, production, and vendors to keep equipment running and address issues promptly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years’ experience as electrical, mechanical or E/M technician.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Experience in assembly, installation and setup of mechanical modifications and drive systems.
  • Ability to work safely on elevated platforms, rooftops and other heights.

We currently have an opportunity for aShift Maintenance Mechanic at our Manufacturing Plant in Hunstersville, NC

NIGHT SHIFT HOURS

7:00pm-7:00am

*Must be available to train on Day shift

(12 Hour Shift)

Responsibilities

The Shift Maintenance Mechanic provides safe, cost-effective, high-quality, technical and timely maintenance support for plant operations. Maintains production and support machinery to achieve required levels of availability, capacity and reliability while supporting short- and long-range operational plans. Partners with maintenance, production, vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve equipment issues, support continuous improvement and sustain a safe operating environment. Exercises independent judgment in prioritizing work, determining equipment repair or replacement needs, and securing resources necessary to support operational requirements

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Focus on proactive maintenance. Solve machine issues and problems to root cause; write work requests and complete work orders intended to prevent emergency breakdowns and maintain plant up time.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical service and repair of plant machinery and all support equipment.
  • Installation of electrical power and control systems.
  • Assist the Preventative Maintenance team members in the completion of PM tasks as requested.
  • Make value judgments regarding equipment repair or replacement costs.
  • Effectively procure outside resources and information as necessary to service or repair equipment.
  • Work with vendors during non-business hours to get parts or supplies to repair equipment as production needs require.

Technical Support

  • Advanced electrical troubleshooting (PLC, SCADA, and complex motor drive and control systems) eventually required and necessary. Advancement is dependent on schooling and training level.
  • Support team in the writing and use of Standard Work Procedures.
  • Experience reading mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Experience in assembly, installation and setup of mechanical modifications, machinery assemblies and drive system components.
  • Experience installing electrical upgrades and modifications.

Safety & Compliance

  • Understand and apply safe electrical and mechanical operating procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly and safe work environment.
  • Perform work in a safe manner that protects and promotes the health and well-being of the individual and the environment.
  • Ability to work safely on elevated platforms, rooftop, and other heights.

Team & Continuous Improvement

  • Support, encourage and train in the proper use of help chain.
  • Work independently and prioritize multiple work tasks.
  • Be actively involved and support shift and maintenance team continuous improvement efforts.
  • Be a resource to cross-functional work teams with the emphasis on customer focus.
  • Available to work overtime covering other shift vacations, etc., as necessary. Also available any holiday or weekend required for shutdown work.
  • Perform other duties as they develop or as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years’ experience working as electrical, mechanical or E/M technician.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Candidate consideration based on troubleshooting skill level, mechanical & electrical aptitude, previous schooling, degrees, and work experience.
