Job summary

Danfoss GmbH, located in Forest City, North Carolina, is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift. The role focuses on electrical and mechanical maintenance, welding, fabrication, and safe operation of machinery.

2nd shift hours: Mon–Fri, 2:45 pm–11:00 pm, with NEC-compliant work and hands-on problem solving. Ideal candidates have a strong mechanical background, industrial experience, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Industrial mechanical/electrical experience: at least 5 years or Associate's Degree plus 3 years.
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship and local—no relocation.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in accordance with NEC.
  • Read blueprints, manuals, and diagrams to complete tasks accurately.
  • Repair and fabricate devices to improve equipment performance.
  • Perform Arc, TIG, and MIG welding and brazing as needed.
  • Operate machine tools and lifts; work at elevated locations.
  • Utilize Maintenance Work Order software with minimal direction.

Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician / 2nd Shift

The Impact You'll Make

The Multi-Craft Maintenance position is a 2nd Shift position, located in Forest City, North Carolina.

Shift hours are Monday through Friday, 2:45 pm to 11:00 pm.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Understands and applies National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations; installs, maintains, and troubleshoots electrical systems, including running conduit, pulling wire, control wiring, and identifying hazards, defects, and repair needs
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, manuals, and diagrams to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Possesses a strong mechanical background, including hydraulic and pneumatic system repair and application, and fabricates devices and mechanisms to improve, repair, or replace equipment that is not operating properly or efficiently
  • Performs Arc, TIG, and MIG welding, as well as oxy-acetylene cutting and brazing
  • Uses machine tools to perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, boring, and reaming operations; operates lift trucks, man lifts, and boom lifts to work in elevated locations
  • Works effectively with minimal direction and possesses computer skills necessary to utilize Maintenance Work Order software
What We're Looking For

Required (Basic) Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Industrial mechanical/electrical experience, minimum five (5) years or Associates Degree, plus three (3) years experience
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must be local – no relocation offered


Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to use advanced testing equipment and hand tools
  • PC Skills:Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Datastream
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of NFPA 70 including NFPA 70E, b asic PLC logic circuit troubleshooting, Boiler and Pressure Vessel experience, as well as Pneumatic and Hydraulic experience, as well as Fire Suppression Systems experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully in team environment
  • Electrician License (Residential/Commercial/Master), Boiler and Pressure Vessel Certification, HVAC License, Pneumatic/Hydraulic technician certification and PLC Certification, Fire Suppression Systems License
