Job summary

Closure Systems International, Inc. is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician for the D Crew nights. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing and automation systems, maintaining auxiliary infrastructure, and rebuilding critical components.

Qualifications

• Complete pre-employment mechanical aptitude test.
• CEW (certified electrical worker) training within 1 year of hire.
• Demonstrated safety-first focus.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Plastics industry experience desirable, especially with compression molding equipment.
• Must have tools for industrial maintenance; special tools not required.
• Self-motivated, accountable, and able to communicate with team members.
• Able to work at heights (fall protection/mobile elevated work platform training).
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work in varied positions.
• Cross-functional training in mechanical and electrical areas (5+ years).
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and plastic processing equipment.
• Knowledge of utility system components (compressed air, cooling water, vacuum).
• Knowledge of plant electrical systems incl. NFPA 70e.
• Knowledge of PLC controls/electronics for automation equipment.
• Able to fabricate parts using shop tools (vertical mill/drill, brake, shear, MIG/TIG).
• Vocational education or training in machine repair or industrial electricity.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing, support equipment, and automation systems.
• Operate, monitor, and repair auxiliary infrastructure systems (air, cooling water, vacuum, cartons).
• Identify and rebuild components for reuse (pumps, valves, solenoids).
• Fabricate machine parts using shop tools.
• Support equipment installations and facility improvements.
• Collaborate with electricians on electrical/electronic repairs.
• Set up inspection cameras per quality guidelines.
• Provide safety-focused improvements to plant operations.
• Document changes to equipment.
• Train team members on maintenance practices and safety.

Job description

1. 1.Safety oriented for self and all team members safety
2. 2.Communicates with production supervisors and other team members frequently for needs of machine repair
3. 3.Troubleshooting and repair of all manufacturing, support equipment, and automation systems
4. 4.Operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting/repair of all auxiliary infrastructure systems such as compressed air, cooling water, vacuum, and carton systems
5. 5.Identifies, determines, and rebuilds components such as pumps, valves, solenoids, vacuum systems for reuse
6. 6.Fabrication of machine parts through use of maintenance shop tools
7. 7.Project work for installation of equipment, repairs/improvements to building infrastructure, and other facility areas
8. 8.Supports and works with electricians to perform electrical and/or electronic controls repairs as necessary
9. 9.Set up inspection camera’s using quality control guidelines
10. 10.Make suggestions/improvements to increase effectiveness of operations in the plant
11. 11.Perform preventive and corrective work as directed, notably on support equipment
12. 12.Responsible for proper documentation of all/any changes made to equipment
13. 13.Continuously trains and learns new subject areas to improve own skillset
14. 14.Training of team members on equipment maintenance practices, operation, and safe work practices
15. 15.Other duties as assigned

Shift: D Crew (nights) 12 hour shifts

Educational and Other Skills Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Read, write and speak English
• Complete pre-employment mechanical aptitude test
• Complete in house CEW (certified electrical worker) training within 1 year of hire date
• Demonstrated safety-first focus
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance or similar experience required
• Prior plastics experience desirable, specifically with experience in operation and maintenance of compression molding equipment
• Must have tools required for industrial maintenance, with exception of specialty, power tools, and machine shop tools
• Self-motivated, accountable, and able to communicate with team members
• Must be able to work at heights (Passing fall protection and mobile elevated work platform training required)
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in different positions throughout shift
• Cross functionally trained in mechanical and electrical areas with 5+ years of industrial maintenance
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, and plastic processing equipment
• Knowledge of utility system components including compressed air systems, cooling water systems, vacuum systems, etc.
• Knowledge of plant electrical systems, including NFPA 70e qualifications
• Knowledge of PLC controls/electronics for automation equipment
• Qualification to use maintenance shop tools to fabricate parts including the use of vertical mill/drill presses, brake/shear, and MIG/TIG welders
• Vocational education and/or training in machine repair, industrial electricity, or equivalent programs from an accredited school
