Job summary

Arcosa, Inc. via Ameron Pole Products in Anniston, AL is seeking a maintenance technician to service and repair electrical and mechanical systems on industrial machinery.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, high voltage repairs (3 phase 480V+), installing and maintaining equipment, and following safety standards. A minimum of 3 years in mechanical maintenance and electrical experience is required; PLC and ladder logic knowledge is a plus, welding and crane experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in mechanical maintenance and high voltage experience.
• Crane, welding and PLC experience preferred; PLC/ladder logic a plus.
• Understand mechanical/electrical controls and schematics; troubleshoot and test electrical applications.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use tools and equipment to perform maintenance tasks and diagnose operating problems.
• Perform high voltage electrical repairs (controls, relays) and install/repair electrical systems.
• Make repairs on computer-controlled equipment and troubleshoot production equipment.
• Fabricate and install new equipment; coordinate with contractors as needed.
• Maintain machinery under Preventative Maintenance Program and critical spare parts inventory.
• Follow safety rules and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do:

• Use blueprints, schematics, small/power tools and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks and determine causes of operating problems in the area including but not limited to plumbing, electrical systems/components, HAVC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Perform high voltage electrical repairs (controls, relays)
• Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and test equipment
• Make electronic, mechanical, or electrical repairs on computer-controlled equipment
• Troubleshoot electronically controlled production equipment
• Fabricate and install new equipment and coordinate with contractors on such as necessary
• Maintain machinery according to Preventative Maintenance Program
• Maintain a critical spare parts inventory
• Perform regular inspections on cranes and lifting equipment per Ameron and Arcosa standards
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Perform other her duties as assigned

Technical/other training or better.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of related mechanical maintenance and high voltage (3 phase480V or higher) Electrical experience. Crane, Welding and PLC experience preferred. PLC and ladder logic programing a plus.Ability to understand principles of mechanical and electrical controls and understand general mechanical and electrical schematics. The ability to trouble shoots and test all electrical applications. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
