Position Details

The person hired will work at our 3M Decatur Site as a Multi-Craft Maintenance/Maintenance Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests and inspections of equipment and preventative maintenance to ensure proper operation.
• Install, modify, and upgrade electrical, electronic, mechanical, and computer equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, motors, controls, VFDs, and related equipment.
• Develop plans to correct equipment deficiencies and improve reliability.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working overtime, various shifts, and being on-call.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution.
• Four (4) years of industrial maintenance experience in a multi-craft role.
• Successful completion of 3M Maintenance Skilled Craft test battery.

Desired:

• Two-year technical degree/diploma in a multi-craft technology program.
• Experience troubleshooting motors, pumps, web handling systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, drive systems, valves, brakes, and clutches.
• Proficiency with electro-mechanical equipment, PLC troubleshooting, and industrial lasers.
• Strong problem-solving and computer skills.

Additional Details

Location: Decatur, AL

Travel: None

Work hours may include overtime, weekends, and holidays. Shift: Rotating.

Starting pay rate: $41.82 to $44.01 per hour.
