Job summary

Hunter Search Group is seeking a seasoned multi-craft Industrial Maintenance Technician to repair, maintain and optimize PLC-controlled production equipment on the factory floor. You will read blueprints and schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and train technicians, ensuring safe, reliable operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years as multi-craft industrial maintenance technician.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and electrical systems experience.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics; use manufacturer instructions and service manuals.
  • Experience with welding, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and utilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, including PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and improve existing equipment; assist design of new machinery and fixtures.
  • Diagnose and repair motor control panels; work with 230–480V three-phase systems.
  • Operate forklifts and scissor lifts for equipment moves and elevated maintenance.
  • Train department technicians on policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance and general labor; keep work areas safe and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Role Overview

Picture your day beginning on the production floor. You scan the line, listen for telltale sounds, and review the worklist. A PLC-controlled conveyor pauses — you isolate the fault, trace the issue through the electrical schematic, and bring the system back online. Later, you coach a teammate through an SOP update, then switch gears to preventive maintenance on a hydraulic press. By shift’s end, you’ve completed PMs, documented improvements, and left your area organized and safe.

What You’ll Do
  • Repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical production equipment, including PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Troubleshoot issues and execute preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, manufacturer instructions, and service manuals to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and improve existing equipment; contribute to the design and fabrication of new machinery and fixtures.
  • Diagnose and repair machine motor control panels; work confidently with 230–480V 3‑phase systems and 120/208/240/480 voltage ranges.
  • Operate forklifts and scissor lifts to position equipment and perform elevated maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct routine and corrective maintenance around hydraulic presses in a manufacturing setting.
  • Train department technicians on company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance and general labor as needed; keep work areas clean, safe, and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a multi-craft industrial maintenance technician.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills; experience with industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics; comfortable using manufacturer instructions and service manuals.
  • Hands-on skills across welding, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and utility systems.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills and clear, effective communication.
  • Organized, detail-focused, and able to multitask and prioritize in a team or independently.
  • Previous production environment experience is a plus.
  • Experience with blow molding equipment is a plus.
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs multiple times per day.
  • Stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Available to work overtime as required.

Compensation Highlights
  • Overtime available.
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus, paid on the 30th day.
