Job summary

Merryhill School in California is seeking a Preschool Multi-Classroom Teacher to join our early learning team. This role supports multiple classrooms, delivering developmentally appropriate activities and collaborating with teachers and leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction.

You will foster early literacy, language development, math readiness, motor skills, and social-emotional growth while maintaining a warm, engaging classroom and communicating with families about progress

Qualifications

• 12 semester units or 18 quarter units in early childhood education or a BA in Child Development.
• CDA credential preferred.
• Experience with preschool-aged children in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple classrooms and age groups.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom-management skills.
• Patience, adaptability, compassion, and enthusiasm for young children.
• Ability to support a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Ability to meet physical demands and complete background-check/licensing requirements.

About the Role

As a Preschool Multi-Classroom Teacher at Merryhill School, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for our youngest students. This dynamic position works across multiple preschool classrooms, supporting teachers and engaging students through purposeful play, hands-on learning, and developmentally appropriate activities.

You will provide continuity and stability throughout the school by adapting to the needs of different classrooms and age groups. When a classroom has a vacancy or a teacher is unavailable, you may step into a lead teaching role to maintain established routines and ensure students continue receiving a consistent, high-quality learning experience.

You will also:

• Support multiple preschool classrooms based on daily staffing and program needs

What We’re Looking For

• 12 semester units or 18 quarter units in early childhood education, including coursework in child development, child/family/community, and curriculum; or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
• Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting preferred
• Ability to work effectively across multiple classrooms, age groups, and instructional environments
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom-management skills
• Patience, adaptability, compassion, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with young children
• Ability to support a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
• Ability to meet the physical demands of working with young children, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and participating in active play
• Ability to successfully complete all required background-check and state-licensing requirements
