Job summary

Salesforce is seeking an Integration Technical Architect for its Professional Services team. The role focuses on hands-on MuleSoft integration, coaching elite staff, and delivering API-led connectivity across on‑premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

You will mentor architects and engineers, influence project direction, and collaborate with Product Management to guide roadmap. Strong security, DevOps, and executive communication are essential for success.

About The Role

Missionforce’s Professional Services team works across every technology and system to deliver solutions to customers in every industry. As an Integration Solution Architect on our Services team, you will enable customers to understand and employ MuleSoft technology hands‑on while coaching and mentoring elite members of a fast‑paced, growing organization. You will develop solutions to help customers realize their business goals and advise them on best practices for on‑premise, cloud, and hybrid integration, and API management. The role requires you to be an influencer and thought leader with in‑depth technical expertise, credibility, and field experience to establish yourself as a subject‑matter expert in a company leading innovation within the integration services industry.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead and govern the design of complex, multi‑phased MuleSoft integration projects, ensuring adherence to API‑led connectivity and integration patterns.
  • Identify opportunities and efficiencies in customers IT operating model, and support implementation of the SLDC pipeline to get greater value out of the MuleSoft platform.
  • Define and scale enterprise integration best practices, reference architectures, foundational assets, and API patterns to drive platform adoption and reuse.
  • Establish and enforce DevOps models, CI/CD pipelines, and operational standards, including monitoring, alerting, and full API lifecycle management.
Key Deliverables
  • Scale best practices globally through reusable assets, reference architectures, and implementations.
  • Enable field teams and partners to boost delivery and customer success.
  • Lead requirements workshops and deliver architectural blueprint documents to influence the strategic direction of projects.
  • Guide product direction and feature delivery by identifying gaps and providing valuable insights to leadership.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to client executives and internal sales/delivery teams throughout the pre‑sales and project delivery lifecycle.
  • Mentor and coach junior architects, engineers, and consultants on technical design principles, implementation strategies, and customer‑facing best practices.
  • Drive decision‑making for complex technical challenges, balancing scope, time‑to‑market, and technical debt across integration solutions.
  • Engage with MuleSoft Product Management and Engineering to relay field feedback and influence the platform's future roadmap.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret level security clearance
  • 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years leading complex integration and solution architecture initiatives.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on MuleSoft experience or similar experience, including proficiency in designing and implementing API‑led connectivity and integration patterns.
  • Demonstrated expertise in High Availability (HA), Scalability, the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and full API lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise‑grade technical solutions meeting complex business requirements while evangelizing integration methodologies and supporting business case justification to C‑level executives.
  • Experience defining full API life‑cycle management, from API design and integration development through to deployment, operations and governance.
  • Exceptional customer‑facing communication and expectation management skills, including the ability to translate complex technical requirements into appropriate solution architectures and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and architecting for multiple technical integration projects using the SDLC end‑to‑end, sometimes simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting services integrations with MuleSoft and the other solutions (e.g., IBM, BEA, Oracle Fusion, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, Progress Sonic, API Management solutions, etc.).
  • Demonstrated understanding of API security principles, including authentication, authorization, and the application of security policies.
Preferred Skills
  • Integration and Architecture: Expertise in defining full API lifecycle management, SDLC, Microservices, and related architecture patterns (Service Mesh, Serverless).
  • MuleSoft Platform Mastery: Deep experience designing API‑led connectivity and architecture (System, Process, Experience APIs) and mastery of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform features (e.g., API Management, Exchange, Flex Gateway).
  • Technical Workshops: Experience driving technical workshops with technical and business clients to derive value‑added services and implementations.
  • Security and Compliance: Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, FISMA, HIPAA, SOX), experience configuring enterprise software for security compliance, and desired certifications (CKA, CISSP, CISM, or Security+).
  • Cloud and DevOps: Multi‑cloud proficiency (AWS, Azure, GCP) and expertise in DevOps practices (Git, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, CI/CD), including implementing multiple technical integration project SDLCs end‑to‑end.
  • Networking and Infrastructure: Working knowledge of on‑premise/cloud/containerized‑based infrastructures, SDLC pipelines, deployments/configurations, and definition/evangelism of best practices/standards. Includes extensive experience with Internet technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS) and load balancing products (AWS ELB/ALB/NLB, F5, Nginx, or HAproxy).
  • Programming and Data: Proficiency in at least two of the following: Bash, Go, Python, Ruby, node.js, Rust, Java. Working knowledge of at least one RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle DB), NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB), distributed key‑value store (e.g. etcd), and Time‑series DB (InfluxDB, TSDB).

Benefits and Compensation

In the United States, compensation offered will be based on location, job level, and experience. The typical base salary range for this position is $172,500 - $260,100 annually. In select locations such as California, New York, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range is $207,800 - $285,800 per year. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, mental health support, paid parental leave, life and disability insurance, 401(k), employee stock purchasing program, and other programs. Equity, bonus, and incentive compensation may be applicable.
