Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an IT Software Engineer (P2) to design, develop, and maintain scalable software across BFS platforms. The role emphasizes API-first, event-driven, cloud-ready solutions and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will support critical systems and participate in modernization efforts, ensuring security and performance while advancing BFS enterprise capabilities across SAP S/4HANA and digital commerce platforms.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and services in alignment with BFS standards.
• Contribute to API-based, microservice, and event-driven integrations across enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to implement scalable and secure solutions.
• Translate requirements into working code and technical designs.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver committed work.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; participate in on-call rotations.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
