Job summary

Chula Vista Elementary School District is seeking a food service worker to support a fast-paced cafeteria operation. Under supervision, you will prepare and/or assist in preparing, counting, assembling, cooking, heating, and serving a variety of meals to students and staff, while maintaining cleanliness and safety.

You will perform general cleaning duties, follow oral and written directions, and work effectively with school personnel and students.

Qualifications

• Resume required for internal and external candidates.
• Experience in food preparation or serving is required.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to prepare and serve a wide variety of meals.
• Ability to work rapidly and efficiently.
• Ability to work with school personnel and students.
• Maintain high sanitation and personal hygiene standards.
• Basic reading, bookkeeping and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to pass Food Handler Permit test on hire.

• Apply and maintain high standards of sanitation and personal hygiene.
• Sufficient education to have basic skills in reading, bookkeeping and arithmetic.
• Ability to pass Food Handler Permit test upon hire.

Comments and Other Information

Probationary employees serving the initial probationary period (6 months) in the District are not eligible for voluntary transfer. However, they are eligible to apply for a promotional opportunity pursuant to Article 11, Transfer of the CVCEO/District Agreement.
