Job summary

MS Directional, LLC is seeking a Motor Shop Technician in Midland, TX to inspect, diagnose, repair, and overhaul directional motors and oilfield components. You will disassemble/reassemble equipment, verify test results, and maintain accurate documentation for billing and records.

You will safely operate the Torque Master machine, manage parts lists, and ensure tool readiness, while adhering to manuals, FAQs, and safety standards. Flexibility for after-hours and weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years Motor Shop experience.
• Preferred: experience with vector gauges and RA meters.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot and diagnose the problem of equipment brought to the maintenance shop.
• Assemble and disassemble directional motors, and other oilfield drilling components
• Operate the Torque Master machine for assembly and disassembly
• Perform all tests and repair in strict compliance with the manufacturer's service manual and bulletins
• Quality control of parts to determine whether they need to be repaired or replaced
• List parts to be replaced referring to the manufacturer's manuals and diagrams
• Document inspections, test results, repair work done and parts replaced for proper billing and record upkeep
• Safely operate forklift to move equipment around the yard
• Willing to be on call after hours, work extended schedules, including extra days, nights, weekends and holidays.
