Job summary

Muchacho Decatur is seeking an experienced bartender to craft and serve cocktails and nonalcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant guests. You will uphold Electric Hospitality values, check IDs, and ensure safe, sanitary beverage practices while delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Responsibilities include taking orders, inputting into POS, garnishing drinks, handling payments, and maintaining a clean, inviting bar area.

Qualifications

• Prepare guests’ drinks as ordered.
• Check identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Adhere to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all beverage items.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Take drink (and sometimes food) orders from guests seated at the bar or from servers.
• Input orders into the POS system.
• Slice fruit or other garnishes for drinks.
• Clean the bar and arrange glasses for an attractive bar display.
• Prepare bills and accept payment from guests.
• Thank guests and kindly invite them back for a future drinking/dining experience.
• Communicate effectively and courteously with guests and co-workers.
• Perform calmly and effectively under stressful conditions.
• Assist the team as needed to optimize the guest’s dining experience.

Essential Physical Functions:

• Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

• Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Must tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic.
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, and soy.
• Report to work in the required complete uniform.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and persona that reflects the restaurant's image.
