Job summary

Position Details

Job Title: MTS Process Integration Engineer

Location: Kaiser Dr Office - Fremont, CA 94555

Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $157,000.00 - $185,000.00

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the R&D team to translate laser design requirements into manufacturable processes.
• Develop, design, and optimize manufacturing processes and systems for the production of various products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Implement process flow and maintain process control techniques and practices to ensure high yield and uniformity across production batches.
• Collaborate with Rel/FA engineers to conduct rigorous analysis and characterization of fabricated devices to ensure they meet specified performance criteria, utilizing tools such as SEM, AFM, and optical microscopy.
• Utilize data analysis and statistical tools for data mining process and device parameters and implement data‑driven solutions for improvement.
• Document all process developments, modifications, and optimizations for future reference and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with industry and company quality standards and participate in quality control initiatives.
• Follow safety guidelines and environmental regulations and contribute to sustainability and safety initiatives.
• Monitor and manage production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and work on cost‑effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related physical science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in an optoelectronic company, focusing on one or more laser categories such as high‑power multimode lasers, low‑power single‑mode lasers, DFBs, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), or SOAs.
• Experience with diverse grating process methodologies on Gallium Nitride (photolithography, e‑beam lithography, holographic, nanoimprint) is a big plus.
• Experience with mask design tools (L‑Edit, Cadence, or Klayout).
• Experience with Gallium Nitride processes and tools such as ICP, RIE, PECVD, e‑beam deposition, lithography, sputter, ellipsometer, SEM, AFM, and profilometers.
• Strong dataset process analysis skills using software such as JMP or Python.
• Experience in a quality‑certified environment (ISO 9001, 5S, 8D, lean six sigma).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Base Salary Information

The full‑time base salary range for the MTS Process Integration Engineer position is $157,000 to $185,000 per annum. The range reflects the minimum and maximum possible base salary for new hires for the role, based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
