Job summary

Manchester Tank & Equipment is seeking a Welding Operator to set up the workstation, operate equipment, and monitor the workflow to ensure steady production of tanks and pressure vessels.

You will read prints, adjust parameters, and weld components while following safety rules and first article inspections. Overtime may be required to meet production demands. Strong reliability and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent and related training.
  • 1 year related experience or training.
  • Must attend, complete, and implement in-house training.

Responsibilities

  • Read prints and locate piece parts.
  • Set up machine parameters and monitor; make corrections as needed.
  • Position, align, and fit components together.
  • Weld components to assemble tanks and pressure vessels.
  • Complete first article inspection before starting run.
  • Monitor product quality with required gauges and criteria.
  • Operate lifting devices as needed.
  • Look for opportunities to contribute to safety and process improvements.
  • Follow EHS guidelines and procedures.
  • Read and follow Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
  • Shut down process if unsafe.
  • Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Job Description

The Welding Operator role is responsible for the set-up and operation of the workstation and the equipment. The employee must also monitor the product's process and quality and make necessary corrections to it to maintain a steady flow of quality products to the customer.

Responsibilities
  • Reads prints and locates piece parts.

  • Sets up operational parameters on the machine and monitor. Make corrections as needed.

  • Positions, aligns, and fits components together.

  • Welds fabricated, cast, and stamped components to assemble tanks and pressure vessels.

  • Completes first article inspection before starting run.

  • Monitor the product quality using required gages and inspection criteria.

  • Operation of lifting devices as needed.

  • Looks for opportunity to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.

  • Follows all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.

  • Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.

  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.

  • Shut down process if unsafe.

  • Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.

  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must attend, complete, and implement required in-house training.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, tape measures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Must pass Manchester Tank & Equipment's weld certification requirements.
