Job summary

Manchester Tank is seeking skilled fabricators to interpret blueprints and operate fabricating machinery in a manufacturing environment. You will read blueprints, set up and run fabricating equipment, and monitor quality at each step to ensure products meet specifications.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, using handheld tools, and participating in process improvements. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and reliable attendance in a fast-paced facility.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications to fabricate equipment.
  • Operate and maintain fabricating machines per specifications.
  • Interpret schedules and product specs to determine fabrication sequence.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines as required.
  • Adjust speed and load of machines to meet quality targets.
  • Ensure finished products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Utilize handheld tools and lifting devices safely as needed.
  • Identify safety, environmental, and process improvement opportunities and report.

Job Description

Responsibilities: Including the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
  • Manage the operation of all types of machines and also work to ensure that they are well-maintained.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, tape measures, schedules, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabrication.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines according to the specifications.
  • Work to adjust and operate the speed and control the load of the machines.
  • Monitor the finished products obtained to ensure the quality conforms to the specifications.
  • Monitor the working of the machine and report on the need for improvement, defects, or malfunctions, etc.
  • Utilize handheld tools such as handheld screw guns, drill guns, and grinders.
  • Operation of lifting devices as needed.
  • Looks for opportunities to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes, and overall improvement efforts.
  • Follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
  • Shut down the process if unsafe.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
