Job Description

The Machine Operator role is responsible for the set-up and operation of the workstation and the equipment. The employee must also monitor the product's process and quality and make necessary corrections to it to maintain a steady flow of quality products to the customer.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the operating of all types of machines and work to ensure that they are well maintained.
2. Reads and interprets blueprints, tape measures, schedules, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating.
3. Sets up and operates fabricating machines according to the specifications.
4. Work to adjust and operate speed and control the load of the machines.
5. Monitor the finished products obtained to ensure the quality conforms to the specifications.
6. Monitor the working of the machine and report the need for improvement, defects or malfunctions, etc.
7. Operation of lifting devices as needed.
8. Looks for opportunity to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
9. Follows all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
10. Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
11. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
12. Shut down process if unsafe.
13. Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
14. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situation.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
