Job summary

Walbec Group seeks a Materials Testing Center (MTC) Technician to perform sampling and standardized testing per AASHTO/ASTM specs. You will input data into LIMS, report results, and help maintain calibration and equipment readiness on-site in Wisconsin.

You will adhere to SOPs, ensure safety and ethics in all tasks, and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders while supporting process improvements and on-site quality control measures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; team-oriented.
  • Ability to multitask and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sampling and standardized testing according to AASHTO, ASTM, and/or customer specifications.
  • Strictly adhere to the SOPs for all tasks and document actions taken.
  • Input data into LIMS and communicate test results to stakeholders.
  • Analyze test outcomes and assist in process control adjustments.
  • Ensure equipment functionality and timely calibrations per schedule.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and mark malfunctioning gear out of service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards for all equipment and facilities.
  • Engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description:MTC Technician ISummary:Conduct materials sampling and testing with precision, integrity, expediency, and in a safe manner. All tasks performed must align with the Walbec Group Quality Management System requirements, Walbec Group policies, standard operating procedures, ethical standards, the Quality Control Technician Manual, and relevant agency specifications, regulations, policies, methods, and procedures.Responsibilities:Perform sampling and standardized testing according to AASHTO, ASTM, and/or customer specificationsStrictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all tasksComplete accurate standard mathematical computations per the testing procedure(s)Input data into Laboratory Information Management system (LIMS)Accurately communicate and document test results to relevant internal and external stakeholdersDocument all sampling, testing, and subsequent actions takenAnalyze test outcomes and assist in making necessary process control adjustmentsEnsure equipment functionality and timely calibrations as per scheduleOversee regular equipment maintenance and ensure malfunctioning equipment is marked out of serviceUphold a professional standard of cleanliness and maintenance for all equipment and facilitiesEngage professionally with both internal and external stakeholdersValue safety and ethics in all tasksUndertake any other duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentProficient computer skillsValid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving recordExceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; team-orientedAbility to multitask and work autonomously with minimal supervisionCapacity to frequently lift weights between 50 – 70Physical capability to conduct required tests both in-lab and on-siteAdherence to company safety guidelinesObtainment of necessary certifications for assigned dutiesFamiliarity with Microsoft Office suiteSuperior verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Skills:Technical degree in engineering or science disciplineProven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to travel locally and regionally as neededKnowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of the construction industry
