Job description

To meet the needs of the Church, we seek to build teams that represent the diverse perspectives, broad life experiences and backgrounds of our global Church membership. With that in mind, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Job Description

The Opportunity
Are you a data-driven strategist looking to bridge the gap between your technical skills and a higher purpose? This isn’t just a part-time job; it’s a high-stakes laboratory where you will use industry-leading tools to solve complex, real-world problems.

As a Mission Finding Analyst, you are the engine behind our global digital reach. This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' You won’t just be "running reports"—you will be optimizing sophisticated advertising funnels and using data to ensure that every missionary companionship across the globe has the opportunity to teach. This is elite-level experience that will prepare you for a career at the world’s top tech and consulting firms.

Why This Role?

  • Real-World Data Science: Master tools like Tableau, Python, R, and APIs to drive precision in paid media targeting.
  • Global Scale: Your work directly influences social media advertising across international borders, affecting thousands of lives daily.
  • Strategic Leadership: You aren’t just a cog in the machine; you are a consultant, synthesizing complex data into clear strategic recommendations for Church leadership and product managers.
  • Career Launchpad: Build a portfolio of work that demonstrates to future employers your ability to handle "big data" and high-pressure decision-making.
Responsibilities

What You’ll Do (The Mission)

  • Optimize the Funnel: Design and evaluate audience inclusions/exclusions to ensure our digital invitations reach those most ready to receive them.
  • Architect Solutions: Use programming languages within the Microsoft platform to build automated, technology-based solutions for the Finding Support Center.
  • Translate Data into Action: Analyze global key performance indicators (KPIs) in Tableau to identify growth opportunities and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with Tech Teams: Act as a bridge between the field and the lab, sharing mission feedback with developers to improve our proprietary tech stack.
  • Lead & Train: Mentor specialists and supervisors, scaling your expertise across the organization.

Who You Are

  • A Returned Missionary: You have a deep understanding of the work and a heart for the mission.
  • Analytically Fearless: You love diving into Python, R, or complex spreadsheets to find the "why" behind the numbers.
  • An Innovative Self-Starter: You don’t wait for instructions; you identify problems and build the solutions to fix them.
  • A Clear Communicator: You can take a messy dataset and turn it into a compelling story or a clear PowerPoint strategy.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent project/internship work).
  • Proficiency with data processing software (Python, APIs, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience utilizing social media for missionary work (preferred).
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
