Position Overview

We are looking for Project Crane Operators for our Montana TA.

Job Purpose

The crane operator is required to safely operate cranes efficiently and maintain a standard of accuracy that aligns with company procedures and customer requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines ensuring the right selection and set up is made regarding crane, lift or hoist.
  • Inspects and assesses ground conditions as well as any possible overhead obstructions.
  • Maintain equipment through daily inspections, including routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain logs and records of operational activities.
  • Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes.
  • Current TWIC card.
  • Successfully pass post‑offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
  • Dependable and reliable with flexibility to work overtime, when necessary.
  • Maintain a current NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.
  • Must have strong ability to work well within a team environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Strong depth perception and quick reaction time.
  • Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65 lbs.
  • Visual capabilities to follow hand signals, maintain all logs and operate machinery.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold.
