Position Overview
We are looking for Project Crane Operators for our Montana TA.
Job Purpose
The crane operator is required to safely operate cranes efficiently and maintain a standard of accuracy that aligns with company procedures and customer requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines ensuring the right selection and set up is made regarding crane, lift or hoist.
- Inspects and assesses ground conditions as well as any possible overhead obstructions.
- Maintain equipment through daily inspections, including routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Maintain logs and records of operational activities.
- Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes.
- Current TWIC card.
- Successfully pass post‑offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
- Dependable and reliable with flexibility to work overtime, when necessary.
- Maintain a current NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.
- Must have strong ability to work well within a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Strong depth perception and quick reaction time.
- Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65 lbs.
- Visual capabilities to follow hand signals, maintain all logs and operate machinery.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold.
