Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform all necessary light duty repairs including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing.
• Maintain operation of machinery by completing preventative maintenance.
• Perform minor building maintenance under supervision.
• Replace, fix, or realign machine parts and accessories.

Skills

Job Summary

Performs all necessary light duty repairs including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing. Light to heavy duty fabrication within the organization.

Essential Functions

• Maintain operation of machinery by completing preventative maintenance requirements on all production equipment.
• Perform minor building maintenance, including problems with heating, plumbing, electrical and structural with supervision.
• Intermediate trouble shooting abilities to locate source of problems by observing device, listening for problems, and using testing instruments.
• Follow manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications, sketches, operation manuals, and diagrams to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with supervision.
• Welding, altering, and fabrication of components on machinery using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Replace, fix, or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications.

Additional Responsibilities

• Movement of equipment, both internal and external.
• Removal of defective components using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
• Assist in safety and housekeeping repairs.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Look up spare parts in computer.
• Fill out work orders and repair slips.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
• Hi-Lo, manlift, and crane license is required.

Environmental Exposures

• Noise – Heavy machinery.
• Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents.
• Batteries and propane.
• Temperature fluctuations.
• Enclosed spaces.
• Added responsibility as outlined in the Environmental Management System.
