Job summary

Grand Valley State University invites applications for a Field Director for the MSW program within the College of Education and Community Innovation. The position requires an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years of post-MSW experience, with a strong emphasis on leadership, collaboration, and diversity-enhancing practices,

Qualifications

• MSW from a CSWE-accredited program is required.
• Minimum of two years post-MSW professional social work experience.
• Evidence of critical, reflective thinking about the role of field education within social work education.
• Experience working with graduate students and community partners to support MSW field education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and place MSW students in field education, including orientation and evaluation of readiness.
• Provide consultation and mediation to students, Field Education Supervisors, and faculty field liaisons.
• Implement field education policies through the practicum review process when needed.
• Develop and maintain field placement sites and monitor quality of field experiences.
• Recruit and develop field placement locations, including underserved populations.
• Collaborate with Health Compliance to complete affiliation agreements and ensure requirements are met.
• Attend quarterly Health Compliance-Clinical Placement Committee meetings and participate in accreditation activities.
• Maintain documentation and regular communication with department directors, faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
