Job summary

California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) is seeking a temporary, full-time Practicum Liaison for the Extended MSW program. The role involves teaching practicum courses, coordinating placements with agencies, and supervising MSW students in a mostly online program with evening courses and monthly in-person sessions.

The ideal candidate will hold an MSW from a CSWE-accredited school, have at least two years of post-master’s experience, and demonstrate commitment to diversity.

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
• At least two years of full-time post-master’s social work experience.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, and community service; commitment to diversity and excellence.
• Ability to teach in-person, hybrid, and online courses.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and integrate practicum education for the Extended MSW program.
• Develop and implement a continuous practicum education program evaluation plan.
• Recruit qualified agencies for student placements and manage practicum-related issues with funding coordinators.
• Maintain and organize files on practicum agency agreements and letters of understanding.
• Assist in resolving problems in placements and update the Practicum Manual and syllabi.
• Plan and run training seminars for agency practicum instructors and participate in relevant department/university meetings.
• Interface with the social service community and neighboring universities to build the Practicum Education program.
• Fulfill teaching, advising, and service duties; support diversity and excellence initiatives.
