Job summary

Acacia Network seeks a licensed social work professional to deliver individualized and group services for adults facing substance use and mental health challenges in a community setting.

Under supervision, the role requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, accurate documentation, and participation in treatment planning and risk assessment to support client wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work and NY LMSW licensure required.
• Minimum two years of experience in mental or behavioral health.
• Must obtain mandated reporter training within 30 days.
• Within six months, complete MAT, SBIRT, CASAC Ethics, and CFR confidentiality training.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse populations.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under supervision of the Program Director, the requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The functions below outline the general responsibilities associated with this position. Each of these functions is considered critical to effective department operations and our Mission. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provide individual and group services to adults with substance use disorders and/or mental health disorders, assisting them in achieving their life goals and maintain overall wellness.
• Provision of services that are OASAS/OMH compliant and in line with standards of care.
• Maintain collaborative and compliant documentation that meets OASAS/OMH and organizational expectations.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings offering feedback and support to staff.
• Participate in person-centered treatment planning, including risk assessment and crisis planning.
• Provide DSM diagnostic assessment and treatment planning, along with making appropriate recommendations and referrals and to document in client record in accordance with regulatory agencies and policy and procedures.
• Conduct regular collateral follow up with treatment partners as clinically indicated.
• Work closely with clients to collaboratively develop formal treatment plans that address substance use disorder and mental health concerns, including improving adherence to recommended treatment.
• Evaluate and provide therapeutic interventions in individual sessions and groups using evidenced-based practices.
• Complete all paperwork requirements and statistical reporting to ensure program compliance with applicable intergovernmental oversight agencies.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and workshops, in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
• All other duties as assigned by the director and clinical supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or an equivalent related field required.
• Current and unrestricted LMSW– NYS Licensure
• Minimum of two (2) of previous relevant experience in a Mental or Behavioral Health environment required.
• Obtain within thirty (30) days from hire date:

• Obtain within six months of hire:
  • Supporting Recovery with Medications Addictions Treatment (MAT)
  • Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment
  • CASAC Canon of Ethics (6 hours)
  • Confidentiality related to 42CFR (3 Hours)
• Ability to use business acumen to exercise good judgment and decision-making.
• Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion.
• Must be able to multitask with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate both verbally and in written form.
• Commitment to cultural diversity and sensitivity.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure and operate with a keen sense of urgency and commitment to quality.
