Job summary

SAFE Federal Credit Union Inc. is seeking a dedicated member service representative to explain and promote credit union products to members on-site. You will assist members in using accounts, loans, and related services while maintaining professional, friendly interactions.

Responsibilities

• Sells/cross sells products and services based on member needs to meet assigned goals.
• Processes financial transactions for members including opening and closing of accounts, issuing checks, deposits and withdrawals, issuing certificates, drafts and other negotiable instruments, opening/closing safe deposit boxes and IRA accounts, issuing ATM/debit cards and PINs.
• Responds to routine member inquiries regarding account operation, access to services, discrepancies, and lost/stolen/forged items.
• Performs teller duties as needed.
• Verifies ATM/debit card maintenance forms.
• Interviews members, completes credit applications, and makes recommendations for approvals/denials consistent with policy to Loan Officers.
• Processes loan application: disbursement of loan, preparation and completion of related documents, packaging and mailing of packets.
• Advises members of approval or denial and processes loans or denials.
• Processes loan deferral requests, refers to appropriate approval level and informs member of decision.
• Assists in reaching credit union volume and insurance penetration goals.

Job description

Responsible for presenting and explaining credit union products and services to members and assisting them to utilize these products and services. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with prospective and current members as well as representing the credit union and its products in a positive and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of credit union's computer system for performing basic input/output tasks.
